Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell if an app is safe before downloading?
Check the developer name, read recent reviews (not just the star rating), and look at what permissions the app requests. An app that asks for permissions it does not need for its core function, like a calculator wanting SMS access, is a red flag. Downloading only from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store also cuts most of the risk.
Why do apps suddenly stop working or crash?
Most crashes come from an outdated app version, a recent OS update the app has not caught up with, low storage space, or a corrupted cache. Updating the app and your phone software, then clearing the app cache, fixes the majority of these cases.
What should I do if an app keeps crashing after an update?
Force-stop the app, clear its cache, and restart your phone. If it still crashes, uninstall and reinstall the app, since the update files can get corrupted mid-download. If the problem continues, the update itself may have a bug, and waiting for the next patch is often the fastest fix.
Are free apps safe to use?
Most free apps from official app stores are safe, but some rely on aggressive ads, data collection, or in-app purchase pressure to make money. Before installing, check the permissions requested and the developer reputation. A free app asking for banking-level access with no clear reason is worth avoiding.
